David Halperin

David Halperin is W. H. Auden Distinguished University Professor of the History and Theory of Sexuality at the University of Michigan, where he is also Professor of Classical Studies and of Comparative Literature. He is the author of several books, most recently How to be Gay.
This lecture, “What is Sex For?”, engages Aristotelian logic and gay male longing as elements in its investigation into how desire is related to the one being desired.
